Born in the U .S.A. and raised in Philadelphia, Devi
moved to the Poconos when she was 15 where she fell in love with a man from
Mexico and married at a young age. And a new love for Latin music blossomed.
Before long Devi found herself passionately intrigued with the culture, the
people, and the language and through music began to learn Spanish. She began
singing in Spanish and as fate would have it she started writing and recording
her reverse-crossover bi-lingual CD in New York City. This dual culture has
given Devi her creative new style of the Latin-American influence that is
quickly making its mark in the music industry.
Her engineer is the owner of Sandlofer studio in
New York City, NY, and her assistant engineer is Ali Dee- lead singer,
songwriter, producer for the popular band "The Grand Skeem". Devi has appeared at
the Stabler Arena in Allentown PA where she opened for La India and Celia Cruz.
She has also opened for Latin comedians such as Paul Rodriguez at the Fernwood
Resort in Bushkill, PA. She has performed at the Paramount Theatre in
Middletown, NY sponsored by a NY radio station, performed for local charity
functions and made a special appearance in a play at the very popular "Acting
Studio Playhouse" in Forest City, PA, where she also participated in their annual parade event visited
by tens of thousands of people. A special float was designed for her live
performance.
Even though this artist is fresh and new to the
music industry, she has had very good attendance for her independent venues.
People are moving their hips to this fun tropical
sound --complete with pan flutes, congas and an American beat.
So if you like Latin-Pop this is a must-hear!
